This certainly brightened things up a bit! Owners of a brand new Rustler 42 (launched last week) were happy with their colour choice - sunglasses required!
And indeed, after an enjoyable hand-over, John and Elspeth Perryman left Falmouth for a cruise to Northern France, having been astonished how many people stopped at the marina and complimented them on their new purchase.
No surprise to us, and there are few better feel good factor moments than when someone compliments you on your new yacht......and Rustler owners get more compliments than most!
We have just packed-up the first of the new Rustler 33s to be exported. This one goes to Auckland. Looking magnificent in navy blue with teak decks, she is sure to turn heads when she gets there.
Order books are filling nicely for the fabulous weekender - it's such a pleasure to know that boats will sell on their sailing performance and aesthetics alone.
Well, this subject certainly stirred-up a bit of correspondence! So much in fact, that we haven't had the time to respond directly to all of the various gems of advice you have been kind enough to impart. What it does show is that there is a great deal of passion surrounding the Rustler brand, and what it stands for.
For those of you who (rather unfairly) assumed that we were considering huge white multi engine device with acres of wrap around dark glass, don't worry! What we have in mind is a far cry from pretty much anything else currently available.
And, for those of you who are worried that we are straying into an unknown area (for us), fear not; we are taking plenty of advice, and have done a lot of research. The fact is, that the market for new boats, of all types, is slow. Those companies who have not realised this and carried on regardless are starting to pay the price. Those of us who can find new products to fill gaps in an ever more specialised market are the ones who will thrive. We intend to thrive.
